Curry Leaves 1 big bunch
Urad Dal - 2 Tblsps
Chana dal -1 Tblsp
Black Pepper corns - 1 tsp
Dry Red Chillies - 10-12
Salt as required
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Jeera 2-3 tsps (optional)
Dry roast :
Urad Dal, Chana Dal.Pepper corns, Dry red chillies.
Method:
Take all the Curry leaves wash nicely and keep in a microwave bowl and heat for 7 minutes.
the leaves will become crisp.
Now take a dry grinder and make a coarse powder by adding roasted chana dal, Urad dal, pepper and red chillies and the curry leaves little by little and also add the Jeera while powdering.
Now after the curry leaves powder is ready, put it in a bowl and mix with salt and hing nicely.
The karuvepallai podi is ready to be had with hot rice with little dollops of ghee.
This powder is very tasty and healthy and can also be added to curries for extra flavour which will give a good taste.For eg: Brinjals,raw plaintain, bhindi curries etc.
