Ingredients:
Pavakai (Karela) - 1 medium size
Tamarind - 1 lemon size
Urad dal - 1 tsp
Black pepper corn - 1 1/2 tsp
Methi seeds - 1 tsp
Dry red chillies - 4-5
Haldi powder - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - few
Salt as required
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Hing - a pinch
Sesame oil for seasoning.
Method:
Cut the Karela into small pieces and keep aside.
Take a lemon size tamarind and soak in water and extract thick juice.
Take a kadai and dry roast Urad dal, methi seeds,dry red chillies, black pepper corns.
Now powder in a dry grinder all the items with a few curry leaves and keep aside.
Now in a Kadai pour 2-3 tsps sesame oil and season with mustard seeds and hing.
Add the karela pieces and pour the thick tamarind extract.
Add haldi powder and salt to it.
Now add the powdered masala and mix nicely.
Now let the kuzhambu boil nicely till it becomes thick.
Remove from fire and pour it in a vessel.
The karela milagu kuzhambu is ready to be had with plain rice and some raita of your choice,

we also make karela kuzhambu but little difference is there, we will add fried cocnut also. urs looks yummy. will try this version
