Vazhapoo (paintain flower) - 1 small cup
Chana dal - 1/2 cup
Tuvar dal -1/2 cup
Dry red chillies - 3-4
Hing - 1/4 tsp
Salt as required
Ghee - 1 tsp
Method:
Cut the Vazhaipoo (plaintain flower ) into small pieces.
Soak the Chana dal and Tuvar dal in water for 1/2 an hour.
Drain the water from the dals and grind into a coarse paste with dry red chillies and hing.
Add salt and 1 tsp ghee for crispness and mix nicely.
Now add the cut vazhaipoo pieces into the batter and mix nicely.
Now take a kadai and pour oil into it and heat the oil.
Wet your left hand palm with little water and take a small ball of batter and flatten it and pour into the oil.
Let one side fry nicely and then flip it on the other side.
Remove all the vadais and put on a tissue paper.
Now the Vazhapoo vadai is hot and crisp and ready to be eaten with any chutney of your choice.
