Ingredients:
Okra /Bhindi - 10-15 nos
Capsicum (green) - 1
Onion - 1
Garlic - 4-5 flakes
Green chillies - 2-3
Jeera - 1 tsp
Salt as required
Oil
Basmati rice - 1 cup
Cashew nuts for garnishing
Masala powders;
Sambar powder - 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
Pudina powder - 1/2 tsp ( you get this powder packet in grocery stores)
Daniya powder - 1/2 tsp
Pulao masala - 1tsp
Method;
Cut onion and garlic and green chillies into small pieces.
Take a kadai pour some oil and season with jeera.
Add the cut onion garlic and chilli pieces and saute nicely.
Cut the Bhindi into half and cut into thin slices.
Cut the Capsicum into thin slices
Now add the Bhindi and capsicum into the seasoning and mix nicely.
Add salt and all the masala powders one by one and mix nicely and cook.
After the veggies are cooked remove from fire.
Soak the Basmati rice in water for 20 minutes.
Drain the water and wash the rice nicely and cook with water outside directly on the gas.
After the rice has cooked, remove the water and the grains will be separate.
Now slowly take some rice in a vessel and mix the bhindi / Capsicum mixture slowly.
After the rice is filled with the masala veggie mixture nicely transfer to a vessel.
Take a kadai add some ghee and roast the cashew nuts to a golden brown .
Pour the cashew nuts on the pulao and garnish nicely.
The Okra /Bhindi pulao is hot and ready to be had with any raitha of your choice.
