Ingredients:
Brown bread - 7-8 slices
Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Hing a pinch
Green chillies - 2-3
Curry leaves - few
Pudina powder - 1 1/2 tsp (available in grocery stores)
Garam masala - 1 tsp
Salt as required
Coriander leaves for garnishing.
Tomato - 1 medium
Ghee - 2-3 tsps
Curd - 1 Tblsp
Method;
Break the brown bread slices into small pieces.
Take a kadai and season with mustard seeds, urad dal, hing, green chillies and curry leaves.
Cut tomato into small pieces and stir nicely with the seasoning.
Now add the bread pieces, salt and mix nicely.
Add a few dollops of ghee and stir the bread mixture nicely.
add 1 tblsp curd and mix nicely to add to the flavour.
Cook stirring the bread upma nicely for 5 minutes.
After the bread upma is cooked off the gas and remove from fire.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
The bread upma is hot and ready to be eaten with any side dish which you prefer.
